Four US court rulings that create legal hurdles for President Trump’s executive orders

The two executive orders in focus are: The order pardoning the accused in the Jan 6 Capitol riots case, and the order ending citizenship by birth.

India Today has accessed four different orders from US courts that create legal hurdles in the implementation of President Donald Trump’s executive orders. The two executive orders in focus are: The Order pardoning the accused in the January 6, 2021 Capitol riots case, and the Order ending citizenship by birth.

A US federal judge on Thursday temporarily blocked President Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship, calling it “blatantly unconstitutional.” The order denies citizenship to children born in the US unless their parents are citizens or legal residents. February 20 is the deadline for termination of birthright citizenship under Trump’s executive order.
